It is a common problem to accidentally upload an automatically scaled-down version of the image from the image page or some other resource instead of the full resolution image. These images are believed to all have a larger-resolution image available, which should be uploaded in their place. The software's image tags have support for shrinking images on the fly for the purpose of presentation. In cases where the image name specifies a size, the new larger image should be uploaded to a new name without this information, and all existing references to the image should be changed to reference the new name.

Remember to notify the uploader with {{subst:do not upload thumbnails}} or {{subst:dont upload Wikipedia thumbnails}}.
